Our Approach To Get You Moving
The first step on your road to recovery is a thorough assessment by one of our physiotherapists. We want to understand the nature and extent of your injury. We will ask you questions about your medical history, your pain, how your injury occurred and how it is affecting your everyday life.
One of our main priorities is to alleviate your pain and discomfort. We do this through a combination of techniques including manual therapy, electrotherapy, heat or ice and pain-relief exercises. These aim to improve your overall comfort and wellbeing.
The more you learn about your condition, the better you are in managing it! Our physios provide education about your condition, its causes and how specific movements or activities may exacerbate or alleviate symptoms. This helps you better manage your pain and make better decisions in your day to day activities.
Learning how to move properly is essential for longer term recovery. We teach you proper body mechanics such as maintaining good posture, safe lifting and moving without straining your injured area. This reduces the risk of further injury.
Our physiotherapists design functional rehabilitation programs that mimic real-life movements and activities. This helps you regain confidence and your ability to perform daily tasks.
As you continue to improve, your physiotherapist will gradually increase the intensity and complexity of your exercises which are tailored to meet your needs and goals.
Your physiotherapy treatment plan is continually monitored and adjusted to ensure your progress is on track.
Our focus is to help you achieve pain-free movement which is crucial for regaining function and quality of life.
We teach you how to prevent the recurrence of your injury by maintaining a health lifestyle, proper posture and regular exercise.
Our physio team often collaborates with other medical professionals such orthopaedic specialists and GPs as well as our in house team of exercise physiologists and remedial massage therapists. This collaborative approach ensures you get the best care to help you in your recovery.

Physiotherapy is a health profession that targets treatment of musculoskeletal injuries, rehabilitation following surgery and any movement system of the body. Physiotherapy aims to improve pain and functional capacity related to the musculoskeletal system. We aim to create an individualised care plan target to the specific needs of each client to improve movement, pain and function.
Generally, you do not need an MRI or XRAY before commencing physiotherapy. In some cases it can provide useful information for example, the specific location/angle and type of fracture sustained. However, physiotherapists are highly trained in assessing and determining the extent of an injury through a thorough examination.
Our hydrotherapy classes are run from the Starfish Aquatic Centre in North Richmond, and are currently on Thursdays.
